I saw this scene as I was walking out of the Angry Trout Cafe in Grand Marais, MN.  This was one of those times when I could instantly see the finished painting in my head like an explosion.  When this happens, I have a compulsion–I MUST paint it!  I wasn’t able to setup my gear right then.  So I took a photo and painted it later, back in my studio. Cheerful flowers, a bright sunny day, bicycles waiting to go on an adventure, and rustic cabins in the background.  This painting has the ability to transport us to that place in our imagination where life is simple and calm and good. The title came to me because the basket on one of the bikes says “Trout” on it…I thought that was a unique way of hauling fish around, hence, “Trout Transportation!”
